The Healthy Hay project set out to collect as many different types of Sainfoin as possible. 360 accessions were collected and of these 170 were planted for further evaluation. 40, which showed promise, were selected from the field for evaluation by the other partners. Further categorisation was carried out including molecular characterisation.
